Find support
FORgiving is a UK-based Community Interest Company committed to uplifting some of the hardest-to-reach individuals within our communities. Established in 2016, our work is rooted in lived experience, compassion, and a deep understanding of the systemic challenges facing young people, families, and marginalised communities
We exist to support, guide, and empower individuals affected by trauma, exclusion, and inequality — ensuring that support reaches those who need it most.

OUR STORY
FORgiving was established in 2016, initially working in collaboration with HMPPS to support ex-offenders transitioning from custody back into their communities. Through this work, our team gained first-hand insight into the barriers faced by individuals navigating reintegration, identity, and opportunity.
During the pandemic, FORgiving officially incorporated as a Community Interest Company, strengthening our ability to respond to growing community needs. With a board of five members and lived experience across our team, our own journeys have shaped our understanding of the realities affecting today’s youth.
While rehabilitative work remains central to our experience, we recognised the urgent need for preventative approaches to reduce violent behaviour and long-term social harm. This belief now forms the foundation of everything we deliver.

Our Mission
To empower young people and marginalised individuals through early intervention, prevention, and advocacy — helping them build confidence, identity, and pathways to positive futures.

Our Vision
We believe that healing and progress happen across generations. Our vision is to connect young people with elders and ground our work in history and heritage, strengthening community bonds and preserving lived experience. Through this, we ensure that stories, lessons, and identity are not lost, but carried forward to shape stronger, more connected futures.

Our History
FORgiving was born from lived experience, community, and Caribbean heritage. Rooted in Jamaican culture and the legacy of the Windrush Generation, our work responds to the long-term impact of exclusion, injustice, and unmet need. We exist to restore dignity, create opportunity, and support individuals and families to rebuild their futures

FORgiving Group
FORgiving Group is a community-led organisation grounded in lived experience and dedicated to creating positive, long-term change for individuals and families affected by trauma, exclusion, and systemic disadvantage. Established to respond to real community needs, the Group brings together education, advocacy, and preventative support under one mission-driven structure.
Through collaboration with schools, justice systems, community partners, and government bodies, FORgiving Group works to uplift those most at risk, ensuring support is accessible, culturally informed, and rooted in dignity and understanding.
Our Approach & Focus
FORgiving Group operates with a trauma-informed and preventative approach, recognising that early intervention is key to breaking cycles of inequality, violence, and marginalisation. Our work focuses on empowering young people, preserving cultural identity, and supporting individuals impacted by historic and ongoing injustice.
By combining youth intervention, education programmes, and Windrush advocacy and immigration support, FORgiving Group bridges generational gaps and creates pathways for personal growth, social mobility, and community resilience.

WINDRUSH ADVOCACY & UK FOCUS
FORgiving delivers Windrush advocacy and support in partnership with the UK Home Office, funded through the Windrush Support and Advocacy Fund. Our work supports individuals affected by the Windrush scandal to secure confirmation of immigration status and access compensation through the Home Office Windrush Scheme.
Our outreach extends across the UK and internationally, including Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, ensuring those impacted by historical injustice receive the recognition, support, and redress they are entitled to.
